Properly Cleaning your Laptop
Ever previously notice the cooling fan inside your notebook computer making odd sounds? Is your system starting to run slower? Does the bottom part of the case feel warmer than when your laptop was new? Does the screen have to be cleaned? If so, follow these steps to keep the inside and outside of your notebook computer neat and going smoother and faster.
Cleaning your screen
The LED screen on your laptop needs to be cleaned periodically. Dust and everything else which floats in the air could be pulled in to the exterior of the display screen. Make sure that the power to the unit is shut off. Utilize a clean normal water dampened lint-free fabric to carefully wipe any light trash from the surface. Do not use any chemical type cleansing agents. If required, you can get a LED screen cleaning kit that has a very gentle cleaner and cloth. This works on flat display Tv's as well.
Cleaning the laptop keys
While the power is still off on the laptop, use a clean lint-free cloth with a gentle window cleaning agent. Do not use bleach or some other potent industrial cleaning agent. Spray the cleaner over the fabric, not the keys. Gently clean each and every laptop key until clean. Allow the keys dry out for about 20 minutes before switching the laptop back on.
When you're able to see dust and hairs in or on the vents at the sides and bottom of the laptop case, you can bet you can find more in the mobile computer. The best way to get all of it out is to open up the case. Do not attempt to blow it out from the outside. This will only clog it up inside the notebook case. All laptop computer cases can be opened rather easily. There are various small screws that hold such cases together. There will probably be small plastic or rubber caps covering screws that keep the display on. Virtually all notebooks will be disassembled from the bottom. Be sure that the power cord and battery are detached before beginning. take out the hard disk drive and place it in a safe area out of the way. Avoid the use of cordless tools or magnetic screwdrivers. If your laptop case is totally open, you will notice the 'dust bunnies' sitting near the laptop cooling fan and cpu cooling heat sink. Eliminate large pieces with a pair of tweezers. Compressed air in a can works perfectly to blow out the dust on and around the motherboard and keys. Be sure to keep the laptop case upright when using canned air. If the canned air is tilted downwards when utilized, the gas in can become a fluid. This will likely harm parts inside the mobile computer. When reassembling the notebook, make sure to use the correct screws in the correct places. Some screws tend to be a bit longer than others, and have to be placed where they were formerly. Pay particular attention to any ribbon cabling and their connectors. The keyboard and mouse pad uses these. Ensure that that the compression or wedge connectors are tight before proceeding to the next step. You won't want to need to open the case again until it's time to clean it again. When you're finished, your notebook will likely be practically brand-new.
